The table is set

One of my favorite quotes from the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy: “The table is set; the pieces are moving…”

Long years ago, Gandalf said it about the war to end all wars, but that’s how I feel right now about my 2-week vacation this coming September.

The plane tickets have been purchased and the hotels are secured. *sigh* I’ll be in Barcelona, Spain to celebrate my 50th birthday and flying to Istanbul, Turkey the next day!

And I won’t be going alone (another Gandalf quote!). Yes, I usually travel solo but this time a family friend/budding photographer is joining me for two weeks in two countries and I’m actually excited with the possibilities of having a like-minded companion along for the journey.

I can’t wait!
